In this class targeted for Grades K-2, each child will receive an informal assessment to identify their current phonics skills. Instruction will be personalized each week to meet their specific needs. Through engaging multi-sensory activities that incorporate movement and hands-on materials, students will explore letter sounds including short and long vowels, blends, digraphs, Bossy R, diphthongs, and more. They'll also build skills in segmenting and blending sounds to help them decode and spell words. Students will build confidence and fluency.

Project Based Learning Day Camp - Shapes All Around Us
No School? No Problem.
Join us for a full day of discovery as we explore the world of shapes through art, stories, and the world around us!
Campers will create colorful shape-inspired artwork, listen to engaging stories, go on shape hunts, and discover how shapes appear in nature, buildings, objects, and everyday life.
Through hands-on activities, creative challenges, and plenty of imagination, campers will see that shapes are everywhere—and that there’s more than one way to look at them!
Full Day: 9:00 am- 3:00 pm $150.00
Half Day: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. $75.00
Folktale Friends Project-Based Learning Camp

Join us for one more week of our Discover & Create PBL Camp Series! “Folktale Friends Camp” connects geography, literature, art and writing. Kids explore folktales from around the world while discovering different countries and cultures. They create engaging crafts and write original stories and comics. This program is targeted for incoming first through third graders, and will be led by Kate Scasso, M.Ed., Elementary Education and Mindfulness Teacher.

Livingston July OG Class
4 WEEK SUMMER SESSION - MORNINGS
Our condensed summer class offers personalized, small-group instruction led by an Orton-Gillingham trained teacher, ensuring a specialized focus on evidence-based, multi-sensory reading techniques. The morning is divided into two targeted sessions: Grades K–2 (9:15–10:15 AM) focuses on foundational skills like letter-sound mapping, blends, and digraphs through hands-on movement, while Grades 3–5 (10:15–11:15 AM) tackles advanced decoding, multisyllabic words, and fluency. Each child begins with an informal assessment to tailor instruction to their specific needs, building the muscle memory and confidence required for reading success.
The registration fee is $275, with invoicing sent via Stripe upon completion of the form below.
Discover & Create Project-Based Learning Camp
The Project-Based Learning Series led by Kate Scasso (M.Ed., CYT, TIC, RP) offers an immersive, hands-on summer experience at Maplewood Outside School for incoming 1st–3rd graders. This series is designed to ignite a lifelong love of learning through high-engagement, weekly thematic units that blend academic skills with creative expression. Each day follows a mindful and structured flow, moving from a warm greeting and read-aloud into movement, content-specific vocabulary, and geography, followed by snacks, independent reading, and dedicated time for art creation and writing.
It will run Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Join us for any or all weeks!
Week 1 (July 6th-10th): Folktale Friends - Reading, Geography, Creation, Writing
Week 2 (July 13th-17th): The Shape Shop - Geometry Exploration
Week 3 (July 20th-24th): Think Globally, Act Locally - Learn about the importance of activism in our community
Week 4 (July 27th-31st): Curious Curators - Create your own museum
